Commissions and Recordings

Kathleen Mayne

Interested in commissioning a composition?

How exciting is the prospect of having a composition created especially for your ensemble! First decide what orchestration you need and what timing length you want. It’s helpful to know if there is a specific occasion for the commission and when and where it would be premiered. Determine your deadline for completion and delivery of score and parts. Expect open and thorough communication between the director and composer. And lastly, if there is a specific style or compositional form you’re seeking, let her know using the form below!
